Precision Cryogenic Systems, Inc. PIR Series dewars are developed for low noise cooling of infrared detectors, arrays, and other devices. Options are available that cover applications from miniature laboratory dewars to cooling of infrared telescopes for rocket borne surveys. The PIR Series was originally developed to provide cooling for liquid nitrogen or helium cooled detectors and has been expanded to cover the complete range of user requirements. Standard configurations include side or down viewing optics for use with all cryogens. Whether we are manufacturing a single unit or a large production run, all products are hand crafted to the finest quality standards. Such features as heliarc welded construction, super insulation, and vapo-shielding to minimize boil-off, lightweight aluminum and/or rugged stainless steel are standard. The use of low thermal conductivity supports for dimensional stability plus the ability to fabricate from a wide range of materials that can be optimized for individual performance or tailored to exacting requirements. Most dewars are complete with vacuum casing burst disc, evacuation valve, electrical feed throughs, and pressure relief valves (if required). Standard fill connections and provisions for remote filling are also available, as well as the installation and/or supply of optical windows.
