A welcome addition to the basic bucket type helium research dewar has been Precision Cryogenic Systems, Inc. vapo-shielded, super insulated PVS type dewar. Improved dewar manufacturing and fabrication techniques coupled with superior low temperature, non-magnetic materials make the PVS style dewars a durable low loss cryostat. Units of this type are available in any combination of neck diameters, helium volumes, tail lengths (inner and outer) and overall inside and outside height. Fundamental to Precision Cryogenic Systems, Inc. PNS type dewar is the open mouth bucket dewar. These LHe research dewars are LN2 shielded, super insulated, and of course, vacuum jacketed for optimum performance. The device to be cooled is simply inserted through the neck tube and cooled by immersion in the liquid. Liquid nitrogen or liquid neon, as well liquid helium, may be used as coolants in the inner reservoir of these dewars. Reduced temperatures may be obtained by pumping over the liquid bath of both the PVS and PNS type dewars. The PVS and PNS style dewars are constructed primarily of heliarc welded aluminum and high strength low thermal conductivity plastic. These dewars will be developed and produced in accordance with your particular needs and specifications.
